CC: What's hot, and what's not

Many simmers out there choose to use custom content in their games. Content created by others, available for download. But what exactly encourages one to download a certain piece of CC? What do people look at when they are downloading custom content?
"I look at the quality of the outfit. There is no way I would ever download something that looks blotchy or has poor resolution," one simmer said.
Most simmers seemed to agree with this statement, everyone looks for nice looking clothes with good quality, and resolution similar to maxis made stuff.
"I tend to looks for every day adult female clothing the most. And sometimes children and teenager every day clothing. I never look to download things for elders, and I usually don't look for male outfits."
Another statement that seemed to ring true throughout most Simmers is that everyday is the most popular clothing category searched for when downloading CC. It was also more common for simmers to download female clothing, however males got their fair share of votes as well.
Elders typically where not searched for when simmers look to download clothing. Something to keep in mind for all those out there who create clothing for their Sims.
Hair and makeup are other common downloads.
Most simmers look for the same quality in these things as clothing.
"When I look for hair, I look for the things that appeal to me, and get it in every color."
Many people say it's hard to find good hair, and once they find things they like, they tend to stick with that particular creator.
Finally, objects are always being downloaded for games.
"I don't really like what Maxis has made available to us object wise, so I download objects a lot, but it can be hard to find nice looking stuff."
Just like with hair, simmers tend to stick with creators they like when going to download objects.
The hot fields in downloads include female and male everyday, female formal, and children/ teen pajamas. As well as longer haircuts, cars, and kitchen sets.
